Constant difference

An arithmetic sequence adds (or subtracts) the same amount every time - the "common difference", like a fixed weekly contribution to a burial society.

nth term = a + (n-1)d, where a = first term, d = common difference.

Example: First term 6, common difference 3: nth term = 6 + (n-1)×3 = 3n + 3. The 10th term = 3(10)+3 = 33.
